Got mom temper-pedic slippers for Mother’s Day.
it was difficult to top last year: a framed picture of one of her tulips…
So I had to go with the coolness factor.
Next year I can go “personalized” again
Last night… I played with Mark. It was pretty awful.
It was kinda cold in there and Mark’s stretched-out strings
(cause he’s always tuning himself up really sharp) couldn’t stay
in tune, so he made me turn down… it was basically like he was
saying, “I don’t sound good when compared to your in-tune bass,
so please stop playing.” We tried to tune a couple times, string
by string, and he’d make me bring one of my strings up to his
and then all the rest of mine would be out.
Technical difficulties aside, we also don’t practice enough, and
brand new songs push the songs that are just starting to get tight
out of the set list, preventing a tight set from ever happening.
After the set, Jen asked Mark if he wanted to play with her again.
I don’t see it working very well, because Mark is not ready to put in
the time and energy required to make a band work… but Jen wants
to play and thinks she can keep Mark on a leash. I will tag along,
but chances are I will bail on this effort if it is just a continuation of
what’s going on with him now.
I got a header panel for the wagon on Saturday morning and put it on.
It looks much better. I still don’t like the grill, but making one requires
time and materials that I can’t afford right now.
