I recorded a TV show today

11.30 Dad finally gets there
12pm realize I’ve locked my keys in the car
12.30 get into car

2pm leave Framingham for work via stupid route filled with traffic
3pm arrive at work late
5.45 leave work and head to Pawtucket
6.30 arrive at Cox Cable Public Access studio
8pm play a one hour set live on the air
9.45 leave Pawtucket
11pm bring computer into apartment
now: update computer and install additional software
soon: bed

showers wake you up.

lost track of days… haven’t been sleeping right…
just took a shower for the first time in who knows how long, my hair was very unhappy with me.

In the week since I’ve posted:

Debt has not been reduced.
Snakes & Ladder played twice.
I thought my amp broke, but it worked fine two days later.
Visited my sister and tried to make her computer work.
Shopped around for the best deal on new computers for my sister.

Tonight, we’re on the bill at Wormtown Wednesday.
I’ve gotta go to my parent’s house to pick up my bass on the way there.
Perhaps I’ll grab the jug… naw, I’ll just threaten to kill Steve if he doesn’t bring it.

gotta get ready for work now…

Debt-debt

debt is on my mind all the time now…
I guess is has something to do with the people calling all day long and the stuff coming in the mail and AAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!

I get a paycheck tomorrow, but it all goes towards utility bills, unfortunately.
I need to make some money, if you have extra money, I’d be glad to take some.

Herringade

long freekin’ weekend.

Saturday, I went to Hockomock to interview… or so I thought.
Basically, Bill just told me to come back on Sunday for Open House…
so I did, and I got all the paperwork and some staff shirts and stuff.
I guess I’m hired.

Then I went to Worcester and paid my admission at Ralph’s for the
Wormfest benefit… but when I called Dad to tell him that I couldn’t help
unload the van, he got all pissed, so I figured I’d try and go do that before
BFTL’s set… but before I even unloaded the van I found out that Sarah’s
plans had changed and she was free all night, so I went and got her
and Lou before heading back out to Worcester… just in time to grab the
gang from BFTL as they were leaving. We decided to go somewhere and
eat and smoke instead of paying to get in and after finding all our favorite
spots are closed on a Sunday night, we ended up at Java Hut.

Then I brought Sarah and Lou back to Wales and we came up with every
Herring-influenced food and product imaginable… My favorites being
Arm & Herring and Herringade sports drink… and possibly Dannon Herring
at the bottom.

and then I came home…
I think I got here at about 5 in the morning.

Dad was late

I was late for work on Wednesday, but I don’t think it cost me my job.
going to find out about my summer job options tomorrow morning…

Seeing an old old old friend on Sunday night…
after I go see BFTL at Ralph’s.

going to bed now

Dad will be late

it’s so early my brain hurts.

off to take pictures of the house in Bedford… then waiting for Dad.
He’ll be really late and have some huge project for us to do which will make me late for work and lose the only job I have left and put me into bankruptcy, I’m sure… but I’m going anyway.

full week

man, the week is filling up fast… and I haven’t tried to contact Sarah yet, to see
what kind of time she has/warn her about the Ralph’s gig being cancelled.

-Today just got freed up, but I’d kinda like to keep it that way…
-Tomorrow morning will probably end up being the day I go to Bedford for pics.
-Tomorrow night I should show my face at the Wormtown wednesday so I can get a few more
perspectives on just how bad last week was.
-Thursday morning will probably become the recording session time.
-Thursday night is an lunar eclipse and the new Matrix movie release…
both are interesting to me and my roommates. With an early enough showtime, we could
catch as much of the lunar eclipse as we wanted… it doesn’t seem to be starting until 9pm.
-Friday is that wacked out practice with Mark and Jen… my reaction to this is still: WTF?

debt

debt debt debt…
the phone still rings all the time and I have no money to pay any of them.

I thought about calling one of those debt negotiation places, but I know that
once I explain my current financial situation, they’ll just start laughing and
tell me I’m screwed and I should just file for bankruptcy or get a better job.

Overtones reunion?

Got mom temper-pedic slippers for Mother’s Day.
it was difficult to top last year: a framed picture of one of her tulips…
So I had to go with the coolness factor.
Next year I can go “personalized” again :)

Last night… I played with Mark. It was pretty awful.
It was kinda cold in there and Mark’s stretched-out strings
(cause he’s always tuning himself up really sharp) couldn’t stay
in tune, so he made me turn down… it was basically like he was
saying, “I don’t sound good when compared to your in-tune bass,
so please stop playing.” We tried to tune a couple times, string
by string, and he’d make me bring one of my strings up to his
and then all the rest of mine would be out.

Technical difficulties aside, we also don’t practice enough, and
brand new songs push the songs that are just starting to get tight
out of the set list, preventing a tight set from ever happening.

After the set, Jen asked Mark if he wanted to play with her again.
I don’t see it working very well, because Mark is not ready to put in
the time and energy required to make a band work… but Jen wants
to play and thinks she can keep Mark on a leash. I will tag along,
but chances are I will bail on this effort if it is just a continuation of
what’s going on with him now.

I got a header panel for the wagon on Saturday morning and put it on.
It looks much better. I still don’t like the grill, but making one requires
time and materials that I can’t afford right now.

junkyards are fun

gig last night was fun, not many more people than last time, but a much tighter and better sounding set.

Trudged around junk yard looking for header panels and grills all morning.
found one I’m gonna go back and try to pull off tomorrow morning with better tools.

looking forward to the Brands gig tomorrow night, hopefully Mark makes it home from PA.
