Wow. Things are a LOT better than a year ago.
I’m looking forward to things, instead of dwelling and just trying to cope stumbling through my days as a zombie who can’t focus on anything. I don’t think my focus will ever quite be what it once was… but I am definitely enjoying life now. I’m enjoying a relationship. Sarah’s visit was awesome (sorry if we didn’t get to hang out with you), and I’m looking forward to some new job possibilities and some new surroundings, to help make that relationship even better and easier to enjoy all the time. I’m in a good place with my whole family, not at all estranged or uncomfortable. I’m taking pictures and planning some different kinds of photographic fun things. I’m not playing any music, but maybe the Chicago area will present me with something in that vein… I’m feeling positive about life in general. It’s nice.
I was just reading through some of the old blogs here the other day, and I think I clean in the fall way more than I do in the spring. I’m cleaning again. Sometimes I get super-motivated and clean the whole apartment in a day, but this is more of a slow burn… started a few weeks ago, and continuing in a big way this week. I felt a big surge of motivation today, while I was visiting Mom, unfortunately… but I think the next two days are completely open for cleaning, and I just bought new trash bags.
Death_Machine has died… I’ve got it resurrected in a zombie-state, right now, but the plan is to replace the broken bits of hardware. The motherboard is fried, I think, so a new one… plus processor and RAM, since I don’t think I can find a PIII board… and the OS, since I’m not going Multi-Processor again and I don’t even know which hard drive had the OS on it, but the big storage drive will probably become it’s primary drive. So basically, everything that was Death_Machine is no longer, except the Case (new one is ordered and on its way) and the CD Drives (at least one of which is either being replaced or not moving into the new case) and the Sound and Video cards. I’ll have to think of a new name, I guess… back to cartoon inspired names? Something entirely new? I’m open to suggestions.
Sarah is coming to visit in a few days, and I’m trying to contain my excitement, but I’m having a hard time… so I may be a little giddy and such. It’ll probably be much like when I was about to go to San Francisco. As I mentioned earlier, this is your chance to meet the awesomeness that is Sarah… so get in line, take a number, etc. I think we have plans with Mom for Thursday, Super Scrabble plans on Friday, big family party on Saturday, maybe some big family party aftermath on Sunday morning… and after that, we’re fairly open to plans. I think we wanna go bowling at least once, and Sarah has never experienced candlepin bowling… who’s still open who has candlepin? Is Mohegan in Webster candlepin?
