As of Monday, I will live in Illinois. There’s a lot of loose ends I need to take care of. Switching ownership and insurance of the car, calling the gas and electric companies, moving the last couple bags of stuff… finding a job. But I am getting on a plane and not coming back here until some undefined time in the future. Sarah flies out here on Friday. She’s spending the weekend and having Christmas dinner with Mom’s family on Saturday. We’ll find some fun adventure to embark on for Sunday. Then we fly home on Monday. It feels weird and great. Sarah is amazing and I’m so happy that she and her family are accepting me into their lives and their home. I’m trying to be cautious, tread lightly, job-hunt carefully, but at the same time, I feel free to redefine my possibilities and do whatever I think I can. It’s exhilarating!
So, see y’all later (some of you should expect something in the mail from me, unless you wanna make plans to get together in the next couple days)!
Last chance for cheap tees at threadless. I think the sale ends at midnight tomorrow… or thereabouts. They’ve released some pretty awesome prints over the last 30 days and a slew of great reprints, too. There’s a nice selection of hoodies and a few long sleeve shirts, too. Go check it out and buy some last minute gifts for yourself… or other people, I guess.
I’ve got my car almost packed for the drive west. I’m taking care of some trash from the apartment, and then I’ll come by to get a few things tomorrow morning, before work. Luckily, it’s not too cold, so it shouldn’t be too bad taking the walk to the dumpster.
Okie. Break’s over… back to work.
Cleaning out the apartment has been an interesting experience. It started kinda slow, and no matter how much I did, it didn’t seem to look like I was making any progress. That changed though, and very quickly, each room definitely seemed more empty. Then mom came with her van and we packed two vans full of stuff. All that’s left to do now is throw out a bunch of trash and pack the carload for the trip west. I forgot how much easier things are to move when you have help… someone to motivate you and keep you from slacking off too much.
And since my bed is here, now. I live in Mom’s basement for a couple weeks. Lemme know if you wanna hang out next week. All I’ll be doing is finishing off the cleaning at the apartment.
