Renaissance fair was fun, the self-propelled Hurlinator was definitely one of the highlights. The food was another. I have a few pictures, I tried to get a shot of the Monty-Python-esque knight with clippity-clopping page following him, but they were very elusive. I can’t remember the size and scope of King Richards Faire, but I think it definitely compares. I kinda want to go back and get a CD booklet that resembled the Necronomicon from Army of Darkness. We’ll have to carefully pick out a time to do that, though, as the fair doesn’t run on weekdays, apparently. We also met up with Sarah’s friend Mel and her daughter Emilie, who lived very close-by. Emilie stole Sarah’s camera for most of the visit and went wild snapping photos of us and everything.
And in the sudden-and-depressing news department, I just got a call from Mom, informing me that my cousin Andrew died. No details on how just yet, but he’s the first in my generation of cousins, on Dad’s side, to go. I’m not sure what that scene is going to be like… now that funeral and such, and Rosemarie’s ceremony are both probably going to happen in the next couple weeks. I’d say that I might be heading out there for one or both of them, but I’m much more likely to boycott the depressing stuff and head out there at the end of August to help Mom with her yard sale and maybe take in the Woodstock Fair.

Yup, it’s done. I promise that I’ll get some better pictures later. This is a motherboard and power supply, mounted to a tray and turned sideways, so that the back panel is facing up. The tray is mounted in a fish tank full of mineral oil. There is also an air stone and some decorations in there. Sarah was in charge of decorations. The eSATA hard drive and wireless keyboard/mouse
receiver are under the fish tank lid along with the air pump for the air stone. It’s run very well, so far. It seemed to hang when I plugged in a USB card reader, I’m not sure why. The oil level is so high that the USB plug had to be cleaned off before inserting it into my laptop. It’s pretty darn kick-ass and it needs a name.
